We have a full Professional Indemnity Insurance which covers us for loss or damage to the landlord and/or tenant caused by human error or negligence on the part of our staff or management which results in a claim for compensation for financial loss or damage relating to the tenancy.

 

  • The Property Ombudsman

When choosing the right agent through which to sell or let, how can you be sure you are dealing with a firm of integrity that upholds the highest principles and standard of service? After all, almost anyone can become an agent in this country without any qualifications or minimum service standards.

Agents who wish to demonstrate their commitment to consumer protection will be members of The Property Ombudsman, indeed we are. The Property Ombudsman is an independent and impartial body that can listen to any complaints and award financial compensation if appropriate. Member agents agree to abide by a rigorous Code of Practice and any agent that is in The Property Ombudsman can certainly be regarded as a "good trader".

An important aspect of membership of The Property Ombudsman is that members undertake not only to abide by a high level code, but also to be judged by an independent third party if a complaint is made, and to abide by whatever that judgement is. Any financial reward that The Property Ombudsman makes in the consumer's favour is binding on the agent.

This is good news for the consumer. The service is free, and should any complaint against a member agent be lodged with The Property Ombudsman (and, by the way, we have never had any, nor do we expect to), the matter is dealt with quickly, and conclusively, without recourse to a court of law, saving the complainant considerable time and expense.

The sale or let of your property is too important to entrust to just anyone. So when the time comes, for peace of mind, we urge you to choose an agent who is a member of The Property Ombudsman.

  • ARLA

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) was formed in 1981 in response to the high level of growth in this specialised sector of the property market and the realisation that a separate organisation was required to act as the professional and regulatory body for UK Letting Agents and promote a consistency of standards in the sector. We are proud to be a member of ARLA.

As a full member of ARLA (under the umbrella of the NFOPP), we are governed by the Principles of Professional Conduct that provide a framework of ethical and professional standards that exceed any current legislation.

All client and tenant monies are kept in a designated client account and are covered by the ARLA bonding scheme, thus ensuring protection from the misappropriation of money belonging to a landlord or tenant.

  •  HMO Accreditation from Oxford City Council

scottfraser are one of the few agents in Oxford to hold a certificate of Accreditation, which publicly recognises our high standards of HMO management, and enables our Landlords to benefit from discounted incentives which include reduced HMO Licensing fees. 

 

  • SAFE
