Legislation and Safety

Keeping on top of all the legislative changes surrounding letting a property is enough to make anyone’s head spin.

As well as being members of ARLA we employ a national firm of solicitors who specialise in lettings and property law. We have immediate access to expert legal advice if it is ever needed and this advice is passed onto our landlords free of charge. All our legal documents including tenancy agreement and notices have been assessed and approved.

In respect of safety, our letting and management teams ensure that all current legislation is complied with, and will fully advise you on the requirements. We have negotiated a favourable rate for safety testing from reputable local companies and we will be happy to undertake the organisation of the inspections on your behalf. The relevant legislation is summarised within the pages in this section.

In addition to standard legislation for rental properties any property classified as a HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) must comply with standards set by Oxford City Council to be able to holdĀ a license to let the property.

For more information on safety requirements for your property, either landlords or tenants, please contact any of our Property Managers who will be delighted to assist you.
