Scott Fraser Limited was originally conceived as a firm of property consultants acting on behalf of UK and overseas clients to acquire land and property suitable for investment.
Founded in 1998 by Andrew Fraser Greenwood (Group Managing Director) and Peter Scott (Director), scottfraser has evolved and grown organically through its dedicated workforce who are passionate about property and customer service.
Andrew says, "When offered the chance of an extra curricular activity at school, I had no hesitation in taking a 6-week course entitled 'How to buy a house'. I knew at once that my future career should be in property."
In the 1980's and 90's Andrew held senior positions in two of the leading property companies in Oxford and specialised in residential lettings and property acquisitions for investment clients.
He subsequently added property development to his wealth of knowledge and together with Peter Scott started to build properties which were suitable for letting which attracted landlords as buy-to-let investments. This led ultimately to the formation of the company.
Anyone who knows Andrew will testify that this enthusiasm for property is as great as ever. He has a loyal following of investment and development clients, many of whom are Oxford or Cambridge alumni. Over the years these clients have built up a portfolio of quality investment properties in the knowledge that they can safely leave the acquisition, refurbishment / furnishing, lettings and property management to scottfraser and sit back and watch their investment grow.
From their centrally located office in Beaumont Street, Andrew was joined in 1998 by Lucy Taylor MRICS (Associate Director) to expand the acquisition and lettings operation. In 2000 the company appointed Michael Joubert and opened its first dedicated lettings office in North Parade Avenue in prestigious central north Oxford. In 2001 the portfolio had grown sufficiently to open a second office in East Oxford. We soon outgrew our North Parade Avenue office and moved to larger more prominent offices in Summertown in 2003.
With the success of East Oxford and Summertown scottfraser opened its third office within the award-winning building, Portus House in Headington in 2005, thus providing a comprehensive Lettings and Property Management service throughout the City of Oxford and surrounding villages, managing a portfolio in excess of 500 properties with over 25 dedicated team members.
In 2006 the company diversified into Residential Sales and appointed David Blythman as Managing Director, with over thirty years of estate agency experience, to head up Scott Fraser (Estate Agents) Ltd. promoting interesting and quality homes in key locations throughout the county under the banner of " scottfraser city and village living". The significant success and growth of the sales office has come from both cutting edge marketing and referrals from satisfied clients. Not only has this altered the focus of scottfraser, but it strengthens our position as one of the leading property companies in Oxford. A second dedicated sales office is already planned.
Looking to the future, scottfraser will be relocating its Head Office from Beaumont Street to its brand new Lime Walk Mews development. The new Head Office will comprise of 9 residential flats and 3 commercial offices located in central Headington in the summer of 2008 as part of its celebrations of 10 years in business in Oxford.
